if you were to extend this to a minute left, or down by 4, i'm sure these stats would be very different, pointless scope of research

It's not pointless at all. Like it's been said in the thread it's not the ONLY measure of clutchness, but you gotta be kidding if you say it's worthless. Shooting for the tie or lead in the last 30sec. That's definitely one aspect of clutch.

dirk is at 43.1% on shots to tie or take the lead with 1 minute or less remaining in 4th qtr or ot in both the regular season and playoffs for his career
I'll try and so some others;
Wade - 31%
Lebron - 37.6%
Kobe - 34.7%
Allen - 36.4%

Pretty stupid if you ask me...

and, i'm getting different information as well.
posting it now.
I got...shot to tie or take lead in final 30 seconds of games in playoffs or regular season...in 4th qtr or overtime....
Dirk 37.2%
Lebron 33.8%
Kobe 30.7%
Wade 28%
So I have no idea what those numbers in the chart actually relate to.

must be what i said then....that it only counts the last 30 seconds of games...that is that if a game goes to OT is won't count a shot in the last 30 secs of the 4th quarter of that game as part of the stats...same goes for 2nd OT games wont count 1st OT or 4th Q

yep.
and that is horribly flawed because it limits the data in a really bad way.
look at the difference in Wade...I know it was odd seeing him so high up on that list.

definitely...doesnt make sense in a practical sense either...what if someebody hits a clutch 3 to force OT? like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQd2h4X0O2E ...that doesn't count as "clutch"

Flawed data due to the arbitrary selection point, but Dirk looks really good in several other "clutch" stats (last 5 minutes scoring and +/-, 4th quarter scoring, playoff stats VS regular season stats, and I suspect though haven't checked free throw shooting in key moments, among others) across the years. And beyond the stats, it's clear enough that Dirk is the guy you want with the ball in his hands in the key possessions of a close game if you want the Mavs to win.
There's enough evidence around that Dirk deserves to be in the conversation as one of the all-time clutch greats, whatever your standard is.

We should also consider clutch free throws/attempts that led to made free throws, especially for someone like Dirk as it is an integral part of their clutch threat... Even without taking those into account, the percentage is still impressive. And no matter what the haters say, Kobe's sheer output is also impressive.
