Congrats to that man. Revolutionized the way big men should play.
2011 made him a legend.
I also remember 1997, NIke Hoops Heroes, when he torched Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Charles Barkley for 52 points.

Re: Dirk's shot to pass Wilt
I will be honest. I lived in Dallas when the Mavs acquired Dirk, and I've followed him through his entire career. I always respected the guy, he's definitely my favorite NBA player who never wore a Spurs uniform. But I never suspected how much respect he has from fans and players of other teams. I always thought he was underappreciated, but this season has shown me differently.
The Mavs last game of the season is at San Antonio. If it does turn out to be Dirks last game, I'm trusting the Spurs to give him the sendoff he deserves.

Dirk never ran his mouth or caused any controversy. Not really. And he stayed with one franchise for his entire career and was an all time great in the process. Of course he's going to get a massive amount of respect.
Other than winning more titles, as a fan, you can't ask for a better career out of your star player than what Dirk gave.
