Coach of the Year...LOL. 4th Qter, tie game, 18 secs left, what would you do?
Definitely not allow my point guard to dribble the ball for 14 secs, pull up for a 3....

Every team in the league does the same thing.
You dont want to drive in the paint because the refs arent calling shit in the final seconds, you dont want to pass the ball around because the other team can steal it. So he stayed outside a put up a shot.
Nothing crazy. Just didnt drop.

Mind boggling how inept this team is. Even before that last possession, Teague forced a shot when they were up with time on the clock that should've been run out.
How this team won 45 games, let alone 60... just something I'll never be able to figure out.

Not true. Spurs / gsw / wizards/ and a few more can actually run a play

I thought the more/most headscratching decision was after LeBron went to the ground and regulation, thought he got fouled, and argued with the ref at the end of regulation. There was a 5-6 difference between the game clock and shot clock. The Hawks did have numbers because LeBron was on the floor and arguing, and they also had a one point lead. They attacked and got a decent shot, but far from a clean look. I don't know why they didn't just hold the ball and run the clock down to 5-6 seconds. Even if they don't score the Cavs get the ball back with about 5 seconds to go in the game down one instead of getting the ball back with 15-20 seconds down one.
The Hawks played some really low IQ ball down the stretch of regulation and OT, but I thought not running down the clock at the end of regulatio to 5ish seconds with a one point lead was their dumbest play.

Sometimes yes, usually no. Not in a tie game final shot situation.
Most teams have a guy and let him shoot a jumper in that situation. Ginobli has bricked millions of final shots. Especially in the playoffs. Curry launches up 3s. And John Wall hasnt hit a clutch shot in his life, but he still takes plenty of them. Now that they got pierce they might try to get him a shot as he cant be relied on to dribble out the clock like the others but at the end of the day you probably end up with a banked fade away as the final shot.

The Hawks are just shook at this point. They shouldn't be doing this badly.

Korver had the greatest 3 point shooting season of all time pretty much, and he made their offense scary. Now that teams can gameplan the ball movement shit and plays can be blown up so the players no longer trust in the system.
Coach Bud was easily coach of the year for winning 60 games, but he's been the worst coach of the playoffs. Well besides that Raptors guy.

To be fair, it was a 2-for-1 scenario on the previous possession. The Hawks were up 1 with 36 seconds left. By taking a quick shot, they basically ensured that they would take the last shot. I was pretty sure that's what they were going to do during the timeout before the play. It's what most coaches try in that situation.
As for the regular season, this isn't the first time we've seen a great regular season team have trouble in the playoffs. This time of year, you need an extra gear on both ends of the floor. Atlanta played every regular season game the way they play their playoff games.
That's not going to work against the best teams in the world.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the biggest blunder of all - failing to call a timeout at the very end.
They tried to run an inbound play with ~18 seconds left in OT, and it got knocked out of bounds. Then with one timeout left, they just inbounded it again. Cleveland had seen the first play... why not call another timeout and come up with something new?
