Eh, if you were a big mob boss I think The Godfather wasn't that excessive. Remember Goodfellas, they were like low tier gangsters in terms of the whole NYC mob.

Godfather was straight up mythology.
Henry Hill was a low level guy, but the guy played by Paul Sorvino was a high level guy and his life wasn't really at that different than Henry Hill's he just made more money and had more power.

Thats what people sometimes forget, the 3 main characters in Goodfellas werent even made men. Still love goodfellas though

One my favorite scenes when is when Joe Pesci doesn't get made and De Niro loses it. Ray Liotta doesn't know whether to touch him or not. Fantastic details.
