Default Does Phil Jackson know we dont have a 1st round pick next year

Stephen A. said that Melo should ask for a trade since the Knicks are going with a rebuilding movement with Grant/Prozingis. Lets say melo is traded, this team could have a similiar record as last year. Problem is, we don't have a lottery pick next year thanks to the Bargnani trade.

If Melo is traded, it's clearly to a team that has a 1st round pick next year.

The problem is, who will take on Melo at this point. Melo would want to be traded to a contender, so we can expect that the draft pick the Knicks would get would be a low one.

Chicago would still be the best destination for him right now. Maybe Dallas.

Rebuilding huh? That's why they're signing David West

Even if you trade Melo(its going to be hard because of his contract and no trade clause) you want get much back for him other than cap space and a low pick.

thats why I dont understand last night. We are rumored to sign David West yet we give up our only shooting guard with NBA experience albeit 2 years for a draft pick point guard and we use our #4 pick to get a 19 year old that will take 3 years to develop

By the time Prozingis/Grant are ready to really play some real basketball, Melo will be gone. The only real way to get these guys experience is to throw them out every night and let them earn their stripes, but by doing that we will have a horrible record and no draft pick to show for it. If thats the case, why did we sign David West?

Phil is an enigma wrapped inside of a mystery. I'm still convinced he still enjoys ****ing up the Knicks but this time from the inside. OY to be a Knick fan.

lol @ Melo being traded .. you think Phil picks this kid without talking to Melo? Melo was at the 2nd workout Porzingis had with the Knicks ..

it's a high risk, high reward pick and since noone knows how he will pan out we just have to wait ..

the grant pick was great tho .. flipping black steve novak for another 1st round pick was great

/e and even if he doesn't want to be here then he should ask for a trade and be gone .. no player is bigger than the franchise
