    lol

i like what atkinson is doing, tho. almost every player on the nets is of equally-low standing, so he's playing them and keeping them on the bench by turns. even lin.

but his starter / reserve stats suggest that his percentages go way up as a starter, so i'm pretty stoked to see what he'll be able to accomplish over a full season as a starter. the biggest concern right now is probably his assist rate.

also, his teammates in atlanta were saying that lin's defense has become a lot better from his linsanity days. even above-average, if you can believe it.

maybe because he barely played for the warriors, and now that he's back in NYC, the nets are the team that matters.

source? I read about Coach Cliff commenting on Lin's underrated defense but not much else about it this season.

hmm, i might have been convoluting what some of his charlotte teammates said about him in general (they'll miss him) with what others have said about his defense (better than most think).

    scott rafferty, sporting news
    robin lundberg, ESPN
    kurt helin, NBC sports
    matt moore, CBS sports

coach cliff does feature prominently, but opinions of these others plus various stats are here:

someone just did the math, and lin is absolutely crushing it compared to his "linsanity" days with the knicks:

this isn't some three-game anomaly, either. the nets decided to do pre-pre-camp this season because of all the young guys, and lin has apparently been kicking it like this for a few months now.

was always going to happen, he is a great athlete and very fluid, he just looks good to watch. He always passed the eye test on most levels despite sub par handling in the earlier stages of his career. He has finally adjusted to the NBA level pace. And holy shit, I am only just finding out he is now a starting PG. That is ****ing sick. Next up is delly to earn his stripes. The game is evolving, you need high character on top of the skills to maximize the effectiveness of an NBA team in this day and age, unless of course you have a 40+inch vert, then you can get away with literally anything.

But he had his greatest moments as a Knick. I don't understand leaving him in a Knicks uniform out
