Has anyone read this book, “The Perfect Team” (Doubleday 2006)? it is a very engaging read. The foreword is written by Chuck Daly. The list of the team is put forth by the following QUALITIES:

although some of the nba players did not use the format, i think that judging the guys by these qualities was a fresh approach.

also, for me growing up, it was good to see one of my favorite 70s players-- havlicek-- on one of these type of lists

may i kindly encourage this thread to try to use the above qualities to discuss nba "perfection"? thanks!!

i just finished the chapter on bill laimbeer as the choice for "intensity" and it is pretty solid

laimbeer, with limited skills, posted over 13,000 points and 0ver 10,000 rebounds because of his willingness to do anything to win-- ANYTHING

my favorite quote from bill: "i dont fight, i agitate"

he really saw his role as throwing the other team off of their game and to get the opponent's crowd to focus on him to take the crowd out of their element

More interesting to me that he named Vince Carter for versatile. Carter is versatile, but I can think of a handful of players whose versatility stands out more.

Also at mentioning himself at "unselfish".
