there's not a legitimate second option on the roster. in order for the knicks to maintain their level of success, melo has to be the first and second options. felton and jr are way too streaky.

I dont consider someone shooting a lot of shots the offense is designed to get them a ballhog. Id say ball stoppers who arent supposed to be doing what they are trying to do are ballhogs.
The biggest ballhog ive seen in like 15 years was Marcus Fizer on the Bulls.
Melo, Kobe, AI, and so on are for the most part doing as expected. Fizer...Artest on the Kings...briefly...Larry Hughes on the Wizards....dudes just making a mess of an offense.
Arenas did a bit of that too. Hes one of the few real stars id say was a ballhog.
Steve Francis would break plays to go one on one a lot too.
There arent really too many ballhogs in the league right now. Few guys take too long to make a decision at times. Like Boozer. Lebron when he does his 8 jab steps only to do something he could have done after 1.
But its not as bad as it was early 2000s or even late 90s. Not many Isiah Rider jab stepping 16 times on a clearout nobody but him wanted situations left.
