I'll say that LeBron of 2008, 2009, and 2010 was a better on court performer and producer than Kobe ever was. It was that stretch when his jumper became more consistent and he improved defensively that emphatically made him the better basketball player.

Not until the end of the 2013 season after winning back to back rings, back to back Finals MVPs, and repeat of back to back MVPs that the case was closed statistically, impact and resume wise as him being better once he matched the ring total as "the man" with Kobe.

Taking a Love and Kyrie less team to the Finals after coming back home, and subsequently beating the massive favorite 73 win Warriors pretty much dumped a truck load of dirt on any possible sane argument of Kobe being better than LeBron.
