Re: Bulls fans; were Lakers fans right about Gasol?
Big pau fan, but yeah bulls fans enjoy his turnstile defense routinely giving the opposition career highs
Not to mention his soft layup/ lob shit he puts up and bricks.
At this point he's hardly an upgrade over boozer. Ever since Shannon banged his girlfriend pau hasn't been the same player

Those Kobe stans always belittling Pau to praise Kobe are kinda pathetic.

But it is though. He's passed his prime, but he's still better than boozer at everything and he makes, what, 10 million less? That's what's up

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he had already blocked more shots then Boozer did last season.

Too early to tell. But he's better than Boozer already.

Actually, it is. I know I am ecstatic watching Gasol instead of Boozer out there. Gasol looks like he has a lot left.

Re: Bulls fans; were Lakers fans right about Gasol?
they were probably right about the fact he wouldn't be able to play along with Jeremy Lin and Kobe at the same time.
but then, that's a lot of players.

just came into say this
first off, a comparison with boozer doesn't belong in this conversation
bulls can't really go wrong with that pau signing as long as he doesn't go down with an injury. at $7m a year he's making a million more than robin lopez, about the same as brandon bass, a few million less than tiago splitter or jordan hill or thaddeus young.
he did average 17/10 in 60 games last season. he's been solid in preseason so far. still adjusting to new system and culture and teammates. his minutes will be limited joining an already strong front court rotation that offers a lot of flexibility. i think hell have a great year, bulls fans will be very happy, and 'lakers fans' will be proven wrong about him because their criticism of pau never had a leg to stand on in the first place.

Gasol is not the same as he was when he co-starred with Kobe, on much better eff btw, but he has so much more game than Boozer it's not even funny.

OK, trying to be as fair and unbiased as possible here.
Gasol is a very talented and versatile big man.
He has a tendency to play soft, even more so as he ages and slows down.
He played very well during the Lakers' championship runs.
He benefited a lot by playing next to Kobe, who took the spotlight/pressure off of him, and Kobe's temperament/drive seemed to help elevate Gasol's mentality during tough series.
At this stage of his career, Gasol will continue to be less effective, but is still a smart and skilled player.
The question is whether the new environment and teammates will have a positive effect on his game, or will he be more timid than he was during those championship runs.
I personally think he will be ok, but nothing great. I think he will show flashes of great games, but overall, Bulls fans will wish he was much more assertive, which will drive them a bit nuts in the long run.

he's that guy who gets you past 1 round or 2 rounds in the playoff.
but you just really can't determine which round.
I mean... it's why they brought him in, right?
