My gut tells me Monroe is going to the Celtics and Pistons end up with Rondo/Smith/Drummond

Well, Charlie V & Stuckey coming off the books after this season. They will have a crap ton of cap space even with this signing.... they could do something in 2014 I guess lol.

Was Dumars really the brain power behind the Pistons run in the mid 2000's because some of his signings in the recent past tell me otherwise.

Perhaps they're going for a rotation of Smith - Drummond - Monroe at the PF/C position with Smith getting a little small forward minutes as well when the matchup is favorable. Easily 32+ minutes for everybody.

Drummond and a first round pick plus expirers for Rondo makes sense for Boston and Detroit.

Rondo-Smith-Monroe is a solid Big 3 and they would still have some cap space for Monta Ellis or AK47.

Otherwise, this is a stupid move for the Pistons.

Had a strong feeling Smith with a take a contract with a team like this. Doesn't seem like a "take less to go to a contender or stacked team" type... Most in the thread don't like it (completely understandable given JS's ceiling), and I doubt Pistons fans are enamored but it, but I think it can work to an extent.

The Hawks could use Stuckey, so the Pistons can send him to Atlanta in a sign and trade.
