    1 2008 Boston Celtics

    vs.

    2 2007 San Antonio Spurs

Preview: The 2008 Boston Celtics finished with a 66-16 record, that is the 2nd highest # of wins in the entire decade. It came in the 1st year of the Big 3: Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. Afterwards they went into the playoffs and eventually won the championship earning them the top speed. KG, Pierce, and Ray were as good as they have ever been on Boston, but Rondo was still young at age 21. They were a dominant defense this season as well.

The 2007 San Antonio Spurs went 58-24 and were the last of the championship Spur teams. It was once again led by Duncan-Ginobili-Parker. They were one of the top defensively and the best offensive team of the championship Spur teams. Once again, a very good team that will be difficult to beat in a 7 game series.

The top 2 teams of the region battle it out in the finale. The Celtics have gone 12-4 in the 1st 3 rounds, including 9-0 at home. The Big 3 have all produced well and have made it tough for anyone to beat them with their great defense and good offensive production from many sources. The Spurs have also gone 12-4 in the 1st 3 rounds have had great contribution from Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. This team may be the strongest Spur team. The matchup to watch here will be Duncan vs. KG, and if the Spurs can contain Ray Allen and Pierce. Also Rondo will need to play his best defense and limit Tony Parker. Spurs won in 2007, and Celtics in 2008, which team was the better champion?
