All while playing a point forward role, and having a scoring minded approach as well... LeBron can get in the paint, get doubled and/or tripled, draw help defenses and create space. He then kicks it out to the open shooters, and by doing so he also racks up an enormous amount of 'Hockey assists'.

His high assist numbers on Team USA throughout his career are enough testament to his passing/playmaking prowess, ball dominant or not.
He doesn't need to dominate the ball to be a high APG guy. He has also averaged 7 apg while sharing the ball with Wade. In terms of effect, he consistently does a lot with a little.

















Watch how he slips the screen, and then how fast and on point this pass is, collapsing the defense... Another 'hockey assist'.

Pretty much...

Him and Bird are far and away the greatest non-PG Passers ever..

But Bird is a bit below Lebron for ballhandling/athleticism reasons... He can't quite be PG. Bird maximized his Play by being a more off the ball Player...

LeBron can be your PG and penetrate defenses, draw defenders, etc.
