What Cuban and Nellie have done with this team is absurd...and if you actually look at their history since around the 03 season...it's been one team building error after another.

Hilarious how bad Cuban has been and yet he walks into every room like he knows something nobody else does. When in truth he's the only one that doesn't know he really hasn't done a good job building this franchise around Dirk since 03...he's just spent a lot of money to cover up the many many many mistakes.

Cuban / Donnie Nelson mostly made really stupid decisions:
- giving an already slightly past his prime Finley that contract
- letting Nash go,
- Dampier,
- Avery as head coach,
- being the only man who "really understood the new CBA"
- blowing up the championship team
- going for one superstar free agency pipe dream after another
- giving that contract to Chandler Parsons
- trading for Rondo

Most of that was covered over by having Dirk and stumbling onto the occasional gem (like Tyson Chandler in the championship season).

But they've been really bad at drafting for a long time, and I'm really curious about how they will do in the post-Dirk area.

Frankly, since Cuban probably won't be able to keep his "smartest man in the room"-brain out of the GM business, probably the only hope for the Mavs is that Cuban will get tired of losing quickly and is going to sell in a few seasons.
