Beat the press defense with pinpoint passing and outside shots. Going the other way, Heats offense was one-dimensional, with little off the ball movement. Each of the big 3 played effectively off the other one, but not off the other two. Plus, Dirk destroyed every team he played in the clutch.
And of course, LeBron played terrible.

For some reason Lebron really struggled against that Mavs team. He did so in the regular season as well.
The Wade injury helped. Terry made a ton of huge shots...and Dirk came through when it mattered most.

they never recovered from that game 2 choke. if they had held on and won game 2, i believe they would have won the finals.

Ball movement and shooting to break Miami's overloading/trapping stood out. Miami eats up iso and pick and roll plays on the perimeter well so Dallas moving the ball properly found open shooters often. The margin of clutch play between Dirk and Lebron was enormous. Such a bizarre showing by Lebron, I'll never understand it.. it's one thing to shoot poorly, but this was entirely different.

The series was lost in game 4, in a closely contested game where LeBron only scored 8 points. Your best player has to be more engaged than that.
But it's all good, Mavs were the better team. They capitalized on their opportunities, and had better late game execution.
