he's not getting much buzz in terms of MVP. we're hearing a lot of talk about Westbrook, Curry, Durant, LeBron, Kawhi, and even Paul George but not much about Harden.

Definitely a sleeper. 10/1 odds are pretty good. He's been playing at a very high level the last 2 years, filling up the stat sheets. If his team wins close to 50 games and his fingerprints are all over the team, he has a chance.

Look at his numbers the last 2 year:

28.2 PPG, 7.2 APG, 5.9 RPG, 1.8 SPG, 26.0 PER

Do you guys know how MVP voting works? He won't get anywhere near an MVP if his team is a 7/8 seed. Realistically, the Rockets need to finish top 2 in the conference just for him to have a chance and even then, he lost last time with the 2 seed basically carrying mostly bench players while putting up godly stats because the 1 seed had so many wins. The Rockets basically need to be within striking distance of the 1 seed and no individual on that 1 seed can separate himself too far from his teammates. Basically, Harden won't be MVP.

After golden state and san antonio the West is pretty much wide open.. completely possible he could win MVP with a 3rd or 4th seed imo.. Harden plays better with 3&D role players around him than he does with other stars. the rockets went on a tear with dwight out a while back and were playing like a top seeded team..

Its not a sleeper. He should basically be the favorite. Him,Westbrook and maybe Lillard. Whoever's team wins the most games. If Davis stays healthy for 75 games and wins more games than them all, he's of course in the mix.

Curry and DUrant will take votes from each other and Lebron will take a sabatical. Davis always gets hurt.
