PREDICTION:
Lakers trade Luke Walton and their 2nd rounder
to
Indy for Shawne Williams, filler (David Harrison?), and their 2nd rounder.

Why?
1. we now have a serious glut at the 3. Luke is the odd man out, imo, with VRad, Ariza, and now Odom.
2. Larry Bird and the Waltons are very friendly.
3. Lakers could gradually develop Shawne Williams' athleticism.
4. Indy is tired of waiting for Shawne to realize his potential.
5. Lakers want to move up in the 2nd round where....

Prediction #2: Lakers draft either George Hill or Jamont Gordon.

Whats with all the Luke trades? No one wants him. Yea Bird and Luke are tight, and Bird is frustrated with Williams, but Luke? Luke is garbage with a garbage contract.

Luke is a smart, heady veteran who would help any veteran team off the bench as the 7th or 8th man. He does all the non-stat stuff. However, the Lakers have a glut at his position.
And if I recall correctly, is contract is not that bad...$4 or $5m per?

It was our offense, not our defense that won those series....
To beat BOS or DET, we need to get better on D.....

There was a rumor a few days ago of Odom for GWall swap. This was also a rumor last season.

I wouldnt pull the trigger on it though, would be great to have GWall's defense/toughness at the 3 but hes very injury prone and like Odom has a shaky jumpshot.

Well, not really.(I hate making excuses)

But this guy just kept playing when he want 100% healthy and I remember at one point he was playing with a torn Labrum(sp? or something like that) in his shoulder, and he was supposed to have surgery and rest but the lakers were doing poorly, so LO said he would suit up, and ball. He hasn't really gotten a chance to fully recover up until this year

With GWall he puts injuries in perspective... I mean how many more injuries of the concussion type until he sufferes some life altering event... If im correct this past seasons injury... he passed out for a while and lost considerable short term memory and had to be hospitalized for a fair amount of time...

Not to be foul, but last time I checked Odom did not put us thru such turmoil

Posey is opting out of his contract with Boston, he's been making 3.2 mill per year.. Lakers need to make a run at him with their MLE

Why add another small forward unless we're trading Odom for something otherwise?

I think lakers will make a push for Marion or Artest and if it doesn't work out they would keep Odom, Ariza, and maybe even luke and vlad if we can't trade them.

Do we need posey? Yes, we need his toughness and offense. But its hard with other guys on this team.

I personally would like to see Luke and Vlad leaving so we can sign posey.

With that move we have 3 small forwards and 2 of them can play PF so it gives us even more depth at other positions.

Or even trade Odom for marion and then sign posey....this roster would look so sexy:
