LeBrant would be a 7'0 265 lbs with elite playmaking and shooting. Almost a perfect player.

Shaquitzki would be a 7'1 300 lbs unstoppable monster in the post.



How about a Yao/Dwight combo. Yaight would be a 7'6 310 lbs with 39.5" vert and excellent post moves. Clearly will get close to 10 blocks a game.

This is exactly what I've been trying to say the whole time. The combination of scoring + passing in Lebron Durant is comparable to just the scoring of Shaquille Nowitzki, considering neither are even close to having real PG vision. Defensively Lebron Durant would have the edge as well.

What is the benefit of combining Durant with LeBron? Better at cherrypicking and passing? Passing isn't really a hole in KD's game so it wasn't the best combination to make.

LeBron/Durant would be the best non big ever, but Shaquille Nowitzki would be the best big ever.

If Shaq could shoot free throws, I genuinely think they would've had to change the rules to stop him. They at the very least would've started calling him for offensive fouls a lot more, as a substitute for hack-a-shaq. Even more the case in this 'fusion' scenario, if you factor in that you're also giving him Nowitzki's consistent, professional approach to the game. And the ability to put the ball on the floor and shoot from outside, which although somewhat superfluous if you're Shaq makes you essentially invincible - if somehow they can stop you from getting a shot off near the basket, you even have a counter for that. They'd have to change the rules.

Basically LeBron/Durant is Durant+30 pounds of muscle with better passing and slightly better athleticism/defense. It's an upgrade sure, but it's not like it's a massive upgrade. It's not like he's going to become a completely different player.

You do realize Durant is EXTREMELY athletic in his own right, correct? He's probably the most athletic 6'10+ player in NBA history, talking on court basketball and not measurements. And his man defense is flat out better than LeBron's at this point in time. Off the ball defense/awareness is a different story.

Of course Durant is athletic, but he's not comparable to LeBron to the point of saying "slightly better". Give him some credit.

You're talking about an 8.5 athlete to a 10. Is it a considerable jump? Yes, but it's like not the athleticism leap would make Durant some god. It's not like you're giving Dirk or Bird LeBron's athleticism. LeBron's bulk & strength is what Durant would gain most from LeBron.

Although it would be amusing because Durant would probably be able to dunk from 2-3 feet beyond the FT line.
