The Kings have signed free-agent forward Mikki Moore, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein.
The deal is for three seasons, at the mid-level exception. The first two seasons and half of the third season are guaranteed, according to Bartelstein. The 7-foot, 223-pounder has played for seven franchises, most recently the New Jersey Nets. He turns 32 in November.
Moore went undrafted out of Nebraska in 1998.
One day after the Kings came close to sending point guard Mike Bibby to Cleveland in a deal involving Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden, Moore's signing appears to negate that possibility.
WHAT THE HELL? This makes no sense. I thought Petrie said he wasn't going to dish out any more MLE contracts so we could have cap room. Now he gives a 32 year old with no upside a 3 year deal for the MLE. He doesn't help our D or rebounding. I think Geoff has lost it.
If two out three of Brad, Kenny, and Shareef don't get traded, I honestly think the Maloofs should look into getting a replacement at GM.
Its become quite obvious that PETRIE IS ON CRACK!
First he says that he's not going to use the MLE for the sake of using it because its just going to add another salary to the books, then he goes and uses it on an 30+ yr old PF/C thats had one good season on a team with no depth downlow. I mean Moore was playing alongside Collins, not exactly a great big man.
For the record, I fully authorize you guys to continue spreading the message (PETRIE IS ON CRACK) to all other boards (r3alGm, Hoopzhype, etc).
That would make sense, both teams need a center and he'd free up space for Jefferson/Okafor. Any idea what we're getting back.
Gerald Wallace, Jared Dudley, Raymond Felton, or Big Al is all I'd want from those two teams, and I doubt Al or GW are even remotely available. I like Gerald Green too, but he doesn't make much sense cause of Martin.
Or Theo's MONSTER expiring. Forgot about that one...I'm drooling. We could probably extend Martin and make a serious run at Brand.
DO IT PETRIE!!!!!!!! I could live with that haha. That'd be awesome. It'd make sense for Boston too. Brad could help get Allen/Pierce good looks and he gives them a good Pick&roll guy+opens up space for Al Jefferson. For us like you said we could make sure Kev got paid and sign Brand if we got another expiring
