How often do y'all train abs? I've really started to get serious about them now that I'm trying to build up my core to try and fix what seem to be some muscle imbalances in my lower back/hip area.
I never bothered since I always deemed my heavy deads and squats to be enough, but now I've dropped the weights on both of them, I figure I'm going to target the abs hard.
What are some of your favourite exercises for them too?
I really don't train them that much. I'm still off that school of thought where the compound stuff are fine.
I'll probably only start direct work once they're actually kinda visible. I do love the feeling of hanging leg raises, the regular one and where you move in an arc from side to side (can only do them with bent legs though). Rollouts are awesome too. I do them with my TRX sometimes.
Hit a session of 5x5 for deadlifts, overhead presses and bent over rows in superset fashion, followed by 3x10 supersets for TRX face pulls and wide-grip push-ups. Feels good. What'd you guys have today?
