Lakers lose Kareem and go from 57 wins to 63 wins
How is that possible?
Neither team won the title though.

The Spurs still won 61 and made the WCF after Duncan retired

Might have had something to do with Kareem being 42 and replaced by a 22 year old Divac there sport

Kareem isn’t better than:
1: Jordan
2: Bird
3: Magic / LeBron
4: Duncan / Hakeem / Shaq

He was 42. When he was the same age as Duncan in his last season hobbling around embarrassing himself, Kareem was still a 17/7/3 57% player

Didn't win a title without Duncan before nor after even when having MVP candidates.

Kareem is definetly the most overrated message board player.
on real gm they pretty much put him automatic top 3 with MJ and LeBron. LMAO
I think Anthony Davis is a good modern comparison. Not in their games because Anthony Davis is way more skilled, but high profile bigman that put up big numbers but lose and can't be that elite first option guy. Garnett is in that same mold. Kareem was in his prime in the weakest era in league history(70s) and missing the playoffs/going below .500. Literally missing the playoffs

They won 5 titles before Kareem and won with Wilt as well. Also had a guy who won more finals mvp's than Kareem on the same team and more league mvp's when they played together. And then won 5 more once Kareem left.

Man Bucks era and mid 70's Jabbar would tear up Davis F outta here. He's a GOAT candidate. And for damn good reason. Heat fan since 88 - if that's when you saw Jabbar you saw a man in his 40's. Davis won't even be in the league at that age.
I also like how matching up against Unseld, Hayes, Lanier, Gilmore, Reed, Cowens, Chamberlain, Thurmond, Bellamy, Walton not to mention guys like Lacey, Smith, McAdoo, Boerwinkle and many more that rarely get mentions is "weakest" era to you as well. Tiny, Doc, Thompson, West, Hawkins, Pistol, Frazier, Havlicek, Gervin, - a weak era? That's some fluff the journalists like to say to make the Bird and Magic documentaries seem more of a legit story like as if the NBA started with them. It didn't and both the NBA and ABA had great players and teams in the 1970's. Shit, like 17 or so teams and how many centers and a few forwards and backcourt guys did I just mention just off the top of my head? I'd argue the early 70's is the strongest it ever was in terms of density per team of HOF center position players (at least on par with late 60's - and more dense than 90's). It had a few image issues later 70's due to drugs but that carried on into the 80's as well into the Bird and Magic era - do we discount their era too? They put him up there in other discussions because he belongs up there.

Because titles won literally decades before or after a players stint with a team with a completely separate roster of players has any relevance to anything Talking about the 2000's Lakers or George fcking Mikan like they have anything to do with Kareem's stint on the Lakers
