Dwight thought he was Hakeem (aka: a low post scorer) and did not want to simply be a pick and roll player. Dwight is not a very good low post scorer and is useless more than a few feet away from the basket. He got by with nothing more than freak athleticism while with Orlando on a team set up to maximize his talent when he was younger. AD, while still not Hakeem, can score from the post and/or anywhere else. The difference has nothing to do with Kobe or Lebron. Dwight being delusional is the main difference. If Dwight would have embraced the pick and roll with the Lakers or Rockets his career would not have faded so fast.
