San Antonio Spurs front office should be Investigated
If Kawhi Leonard takes anything less than a max (which he would get from other teams) or if Duncan takes less than a 10 mill per season contract. That would be a sign that they may be paying players under the table.

It does not defy logic at all. If it's like Joe Smith kind of paycut then yes it warrants an investigation.

They're already doing it for other players, as are other teams.

You really don't know how team sports work sometimes?
Have a look at the situation here before you start making stupid comments.

Re: San Antonio Spurs front office should be Investigated
i'm actually pretty curious if something like this does go down somewhere. not to say that the spurs are doing it. But how would you prove that a team is paying somebody under the table if they were?

Re: San Antonio Spurs front office should be Investigated
if they were paying them under the table, as long as they arent comically stupid, it would be hard to track.
There are so many ways to increase someones net worth if you are a billionaire.

NBA is a business, so of course teams pay under the table, pretty sure almost every team does it.

The Spurs are about buying into a system. Once they have you converted they will have you play for much less than market value. They are the Scientology of the league.

No, but it's ****ed up how they treat Duncan. Spurs fans won't care because they care more about this year than being fair to their own players, but if they are asking him to take some ridiculously low salary for the good of the team (pressuring him basically) considering the financial issues he's had, that's pretty ****ed up. One of the greatest of all time, basically made that franchise, take a tiny salary on top of the half price we've had you at for a few years.
BUT WE NEED TO WIN...you should take care of your own at some point. At least to a reasonable degree.
Note: I'm not complaining about Duncan at $9/$10M, i'm talkign about if it's true they are really asking him to sign at $3M a yaer.
