Marc Gasol is the frontrunner for MVP so far this season
Although even if they do continue playing well I think the media will **** the Grizzlies chances of having a MVP.

Nah before Marc, they'd first give it to Anthony Davis despite Pelicans' record.

Even if the Cavs finish as the 8th seed in the Least with a below .500 record, LeBron will win the MVP. The narrative will be that he "carried a group of scrubs and a bad coach to the playoffs".
Just get ready. It's going to happen.

Somebody posted that it was Moses Malone who was the last guy to win the MVP with a sub-2nd seed record. To win the MVP, your team has to be one of the top 4 (East + West) teams in the NBA, and the Pelicans are nowhere near that. Neither is Boogie, despite how amazingly well he is playing. So Gasol really does look like one of the top forerunners.
Interesting note, think of how weak the center position was just a few years ago, when Yao left and Bynum went down with injuries. Greg Oden was supposed to save the Cs. Now Davis, Gasol, Cousins was dominating, Howard is still somewhere up there, Noah is great, even Hibbert has his head on straight and Drummond (hopefully) can turn it around soon. The bigs are back.

I think they would pick Davis if it's Marc vs him. All despite pelicans record and history saying otherwise. I can't be the only one thinking this.

Thing is I doubt Pelican's record is going to be good, they play against SA, dallas, Houston, Memphis 16 times in total, that's going to put a big dent in their win column. Also Moses won the MVP 32 years ago as the 4th seed, and since then all MVPs have been top 2 seeds in their conferences. Even is Davis is historically great this season, it means nothing if you don't get the wins.

Curry and Davis are both playing better.
