Default Will DeQuan Jones be kept around?

For as surprising as DeQuan Jones' rise to the NBA was, making the Orlando Magic roster after going undrafted out of the University of Miami a year ago, the next hurdle comes by the Magic's June 30 deadline to tender him a qualifying offer. The Magic's options are to extend that offer of $990,000, which would allow them to match outside offers in free agency, or to allow Jones to walk as an unrestricted free agent. Because the $990,000 offer would become automatically guaranteed, the greater likelihood is Jones will once again have to try to earn a roster spot through summer-league play, with the Orlando hosting one of the NBA's two summer leagues, the other in Las Vegas.

Why not, for as cheap as he is I say give him another shot next year and see what he comes to camp with and what he works on.
