Most overpaid manager in MLS and blatantly shows why he couldn't get over the hump in college. I'm sick of his system where he thinks two good players are enough to win. The guy has systematically dumped talent for nothing ever since he got here and now we are stuck with a bum team that can't do jack in the mid and doesn't put it's best players in place to succeed.
It is inexcusable the way he left Brek Shea off the roster vs LAG when every game is must win and they didn't have LD or Becks.
Just pathetic how he lets his ego destroy the team.
Eric Hassli is that good. First game with TFC, a goal and an assist, all of those within 6 minutes. And when he was subbed out TFC blew the lead and ended up with 2-2 draw against Timbers.
TFC 2012 season is almost done after a loss at home to Santos Laguna, which is probably the most important match at this point, yesterday. Only miracle will make TFC through if Santos somehow has a bad result against another team in the group and TFC somehow beat them away.
Freddy Adu’s playing time and patience. Perhaps there’s a reason Adu has played for eight clubs over his nine-year pro career.
Although he has said just about all the right things to the press, the 23-year-old clearly is frustrated by his lack of playing time in Philadelphia. He was pulled after the first half of the Union’s 3-1 loss to Chicago on Aug. 12, lasted 69 minutes against D.C. a week later (and complained about his removal afterward) and then came off the bench in the 82nd minute of last Friday’s tie with RSL.
Adu has two goals and one assist in the past four months, and the debate over whether he’ll ever be a complete, 90-minute player has caught fire once again.
On Sunday, ESPN analyst Alexi Lalas said Adu is “kind of a like a luxury car -- he’s not practical,” prompting Adu to fire back on Twitter, “You are the best player in U.S. history. We are all not worthy of you.”
On Tuesday, Adu re-tweeted a follower who wrote, “The (national team) isn't good enough to not start Adu.”
Union coach John Hackworth said recently, “I’m still trying to push Freddy in the right ways to be an effective player for us. ... I’m trying to get Freddy, specifically, to understand that it’s not about Freddy Adu at all. It’s about the Philadelphia Union.”
If Adu, at 23, still needs to learn that lesson, then his frequent travels make a bit more sense. Philadelphia is a team in transition and Adu must buy in to Hackworth’s system if he’s to avoid club going to yet another club.
I also can't believe the guy who was touted to be the next Pele, and he did show some flashes of being that, ends up like this.
Adu is a victim of his own hype. It is unfortunate but there are some others that can live it up.
