Yankees have something to say here. I'd put Yankees first, then Celtics, then Lakers.
After that a jumble of other teams. Off the top of my head: Steelers, Cardinals (MLB), Dodgers, Packers, Canadiens.
The Lakers have 11 losing seasons (looked it up) in 64 years.
Their overall wins is 3084 in the regular season, and only 1891 losses for a win % of .620. The Yankees have a win % of .568. The Lakers dominate at a higher level, and baseballs cap system allows them to hoard players, where as the Lakers have been smart in building their champions.

Average regular season win % doesn't mean that much to me.

Utah gave the Lakers their #1 pick in 1979 due to a ridiculous rule by the NBA stating that any team losing a player to free agency must receive compensation from the team he signed with. Really not a shrewd move getting Magic Johnson because of a technicality.
Same goes for when they got James Worthy, the pick was given to them as part of that same compensation rule.
The only shrewd deal the Lakers ever made was Jerry West stealing Kobe.
And don't mention the Kareem Abdul Jabbar trade...he forced his way to the Lakers and pretty much said "its either NY or LA or I dont play".
Lastly...the Yankee cap is the most popular item of sports merchandise in all of professional sports. The symbol transcends cultures. An 80 year old woman from Zimbabwe who cant speak english could identify the Yankees symbol.

It's difficult to compare win percentages in different sports. On balance, your top teams in baseball will have lower winning percentages than your top basketball teams.
The Lakers all time are easily the greatest franchise in all of sports. I believe I read that they have less than 10 losing seasons in franchise history. If that is true then that is amazing considering how old the franchise is. Boston has to be number two, and the Bulls third. I can't call the Celts first simply because they have had a lot of bad years. Fourth would be SAS, and fifth would be a tie between Houston, NYK, and Detroit imo.
As for the most overrated easily the Knicks no question.
Dude? How did you steal my exact list before I wrote it?
You mad because I exposed your Bullshits and put them on the spot?
They're overrated because people always say they're the greatest franchise, but in reality, they're not in the top 2.
Paul Pierce - PAUL PIERCE - is one of the players that represents that franchise.
I can understand thinking the Lakers are the greatest franchise but to say the Celtics are overrated because Paul Pierce represents makes you a downright idiot. They've won the most titles in league history, triple the amount of titles of the team in 3rd place, have the most Hall Of Famers, drafted the 1st Black player, 1st Black coach, 1st Black all starting 5, most consecutive titles, etc. How the hell is that overrated?
Don't see how anyone but the Lakers can be #1 when everything is factored in, regular season success, post season success, iconic players etc.
Boston has 1 more title, but overall its the Lakers. They've been contenders in every decade, winning titles in all but the 60's and 90's. They have the most consistent success. Since the lottery system was introduced they have made the least amount of lottery picks. I believe that number is 2, Eddie Jones and Andrew Bynum.
