He is a big time scorer who is the no.4 overall player and he was the MVP at the McDonald's All-American game with 20+ points.

Well, I hope that we can get him with the program. Although, with that much talent, you know that he would be a one and done type player. I hope not but that is the way things are looking these days.
I hope that we can land a type player that wants to stay with the program 4 years and then leave, not this 1-2 year deal. That stuff hurts the program. Look at what happen if Rudy/Marcus leaving us.

Well, I think a team should feel lucky for getting a great talent like that for even 1 year.

Good Golly!
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Yeah, Kemba is nasty and is also a very good defender...I think he will start every game next year because AJ Price will be coming off of a serious injury.
Doug Wiggins is transferring by the way (got caught smoking too much) and Curtis Kelly is too (playing time).
Rumors that I have heard indicate that Thabeet is leaning towards staying.

They said that Thabeet is 60-40 to coming back to UConn.

Sweet. I like this kid. Plus, one more year will only make him that much better as a player and help his chances later in the NBA if he goes that route.

Any guess what Thabeet is going to do? I am hoping that he stays. Right now, he has until Sunday to declare, so hopefully today we will find something out.

Yes!! Thabeet is staying. Plus, we have Ater Majok,Kemba Walker,Scottie Haralson,Nate Miles, and Charles Okwandu coming on board...next year is looking pretty good. I mean, we will have questions about who stays and who goes, but at least we are getting some size and extra scoring help.
I know one thing, the women's program is going to be off the hook next year!!!

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Now we see why Pat Summit cancelled the UConn/Tennessee series, Queen Pat is jealous of Coach Auriemma. Come on, Coach Summit. Stop being so petty. You know if you want to call coach Auriemma a cheater in recruiting, at least have something to back up you claim. All you got is
1. A poster (sign) made by a fan given to a recruit
2. A Wendy's wrapper
3. An Allegations that Bird and Taurasi met a recruit at the door and escorted her to the coaches' offices?
34-pages of nothing. Wow. I use to have a high level of respect for coach Summit. Now, that respect is lost. Thanks for being so petty, coach Summit.

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Who's this Ater Majok guy? Is he another athletic shotblocker(like Thabeet), or does he have some type of an offensive game?

On tape and others comments, Majok is going to be a monster for us and our program. He is long and can play some defense. His footwork...for a big man is freaking scary!! He is like Hakeem, only in a smaller frame. The brother has more moves than Shakira. And his jump shot...smooth. Of course, the big question I have is; will he be assertive or passive? God knows we need someone on our program that will dominate the game like Ray Allen use to. The way Donyell Marshall did.The way Richard Hamilton took over games. We need someone that will say; "get me the dang ball!!"
Here is a clip of Majok in action.

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
YES!! We not only field a great sports program, well basketball does at least, we also are kicking butt in the classroom. The Academic Progress Reports were released and UConn made the grade...was there any doubt?
Football: 950
Men's basketball: 946
Women's basketball: 972 (Thank you, Ladies!!!)
This is based on 2003-2007 time frame. Way to go, UConn and the whole UConn family!!!
