NBA's MASSIVE gender pay gap and partnership with Rwandan dictatr/human rights abuser
Damn, crazy story about the Rwanda thing on ESPN.
[NBA Deputy Commissioner] Tatum was responding to a bipartisan letter sent by Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) to NBA commissioner Adam Silver. The letter described how the NBA "has long positioned itself as a beacon of social justice" but instead has continued "developing relationships with dictators and despots," such as Kagame.

Crazy times.
That is some serious progressive social justice by these billionaires. Paying the hard working queens of the WNBA 1/1000th what the men make, and sportswashing impoverished African nations run by ruthless dictators.
Hoooooo boy.

The article you posted says nothing at all about a pay gap.

I didnt say it did. I said the article was about NBA's partnership with a human rights abusing dictator regime in Rwanda.
The fact the NBA wont pay its own American queens their fair share was a separate point.

Pay their fare share? They've been in the negatives every single year until the last season. If the NBA wanted to be fair, they would have shut the entire federation down every single year. They're getting paid more than what they're earning. It looks like that's going to change with CC joining the league, although the league hates her despite her helping fill all those pockets up

You... may be missing the point here. But thats ok. This was never going to be a subject ISH had much interest in discussing.

The WNBA is 100% subsidized by the NBA. Has been since 1996. The WNBA, if it were a stand-alone business, would have failed 28 years ago.
People are paid what they're worth. If the WNBA players aren't paid more it's due to low ratings. Period. There's a reason no one watches their games other than recently with Caitlin. It's awful basketball. "Pay gap" is something a non-thinker would come up with looking at a spreadsheet.

It's really just this simple. Chase Bank wouldn't keep afloat a super un-profitable portion of their business going for 28 years. The NBA does with the WNBA, because...feelings.
