Wrong.
Lakers barely won 43 games this year and was a 7th seed team, meanwhile 2017 Warriors won 67 (1st seed) and is considered the greatest team of all time.
Lakers were underdogs against Memphis and underdogs against Warriors.

yea it wasnt a great series from curry but he got some pathetic help this series outside wiggins and dray, this series didnt prove anything. Lebron always had a better career because of longevity and a bit better peak too.
Warriors have the largest payroll, their talent on paper is fine but you're not winning a series when your next 2nd and 3rd option combine for less than 25ppg on like 45ts% and are hurting you defensively too. People on reddit are calling poole the worst player in the league lol.

Lakers were underdogs against Memphis and underdogs against Warriors.
Lakers had the best record in the West post-ASB with this new team, and that's with Lebron missing half the games.
Lakers were slight underdogs in the first 2 rounds and are a slight underdog in the WCF because they don't have HCA, but they're clearly the best overall team left in these POs. A healthy AD-Bran combo is still the best 1-2 in the league and they have the shooters & depth needed to win it all. Currently 4 Lakers are averaging 15+ ppg in the POs so this team is really good & you know it.

So what you are saying is that it is NOTHING like 2017 and 2018 because Lakers were UNDERDOGS in 2023 meanwhile Warriors were NEVER underdogs in 2017 and 2018.
Their post all star break "record" was about as good as a 56 win team. Just like the 2017 Warriors!

If we swapped Lebron and Curry and let Curry play on the Lakers and Lebron play on the Warriors with a bed wetting klay, poole, and dray this series probably would've been a sweep in Currys favor.
You guys are hypocrites for chastising Curry for playing with KD but then ignore Lebron playing with AD and a bunch of other All Star talents.

Ok let's swap Curry and LeBron for all matchups since you just opened that door.
2015
2016
2017
2018
and 2023
LeBron winning everything between 2015-2018 and series probably goes 7 in 2023 with a Warriors win.
And my OP would be even more correct. Thank you.

My suggestion: wait a good 3 months after the playoffs end before drawing any conclusion so you're not affected by Recency Bias.
We had 7 years of data sampling. This is no recency bias.

They went 16-7 post-ASB (57-win pace) with Lebron missing 13 games and with Dlo missing 9 as well. That's pretty damn good. They have the best defense in these POs and 5 guys averaging 10+ ppg. Lebron has been coasting for the most part and AD hasn't needed to score as much as usual and they're marching through the Western Conference like it's nothing.

Even with all that, all the odds makers put Lakers as underdogs pre series and all the experts overwhelmingly picked golden state.
I am right.

You know damn well they're no true underdogs when the line is that close without the Lakers having HCA.
