One of the worst supporting casts ever in the Dirk era outplayed the Spurs, and now this season they have upgraded at the SF and C positions and have added depth at the PG spot.

Dirk is a year older but he's still a top 5 player.

This team should be winning it all.

I get what you're saying, another example is when the Bucks outplayed the Heat in 2013. I really thought we were the better team, but Miami just executed better in the final 48 minutes of every game.

Except this series went 7 and Dallas held the lead the majority of the time in the series.

The Mavs did surprisingly well last playoffs, but seriously, they ultimately lost. If they really outplayed the Spurs, they would've won, simple as that.

OP, I think everyone see your point. You are wrong, but not extremely wrong.

Are they better than last year? Yes.

Are they passing first round? Probably.

Are they going to The Finals? Probably no. Mavs are behind Spurs, OKC and Clippers.

Are they winning all, as you say? Absolutely no.

Dallas' role players got incredibly hot in that Spurs series. They took us to 7 even though Dirk had a mini-shocker.

I can't doubt Rick Carlisle though. He and Pop are by far the two best coaches in the game.
