Re: *ISH 07/08 Player Rankings*
I'm pretty certain most GM's and coaches would pick Pau over Amare. I argued this a lot before and don't feel like doing it again.
Yes, Amare will put up better stats, impress you more, act all tough and dominant but Pau is a better player.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly do see flaws in Pau. But overall, he's a more valuable player than Amare although Amare may be a better individual.

i couldn't disagree more. why would anyone take pau over amare? amare's younger, more athletic, and more dominant offensively. defense is both of their weaknesses. and having seen pau play in memphis this season, let me tell you right now he didn't look like the same pau as the one that plays for the lakers. kobe has something to do with that.

So what makes Pau better than Amare then? If Amare puts up better numbers, and impresses you more, and is more dominant?
Is it cuz Pau is a Laker now? Cuz if he was still a Griz we wouldnt even be talking about him dude........

So you came to your conclusion because of what you think and not the better stats/more impressive/more dominate. That makes since. Just throw out all logic becuase Gasol plays for your team and you have a man crush on him.

Re: *ISH 07/08 Player Rankings*
Elton Brand...yeah. Forgot about him. I'd actually have him over Pau. Obviously, over Amare as well.
Amare just comes off all wrong to me. Like the empty stats guy. Not a presence.
Not a vital part of the team...I just kinda see him as...being there and doing things, not making difference. Not really having some crucial impact or making it easier for his teammates or anything.... Dunno.
Pau's different. He really impacts the game. With his passing, intangibles, basketball IQ...since he got to LA, Kobe's been amazing. Odom's been better than ever. He certainly does make it easier for others. Positions himself well on the court..
Maybe I'm just an Amare hater but he's just...blah to me. I think more impressionable than actually good. Like Iverson/Arenas/etc.
Pau actually led his team to 50 wins before. I dread of a thought of Amare in his position. Pau's just much more polished...the type of a player for team basketball as it's supposed to be play. Amare's good but the environment I see him excelling in is as a run and gun type. And run and gun teams lose.
No one talks about how well Pau adjusted to the triangle from the second he became a Laker. I very much doubt Amare could do the same and be so vital to the team and especially his teammates. He'd be doing more of what Bynum was doing. And anyone remembers Odom while Bynum was still active? Yeah...and you telling me Pau had nothing to do with that? Except of course, the difference between Bynum and Amare is that Bynum is a legit defender and a presence. Although, not as good offensively yet.
