Re: Real NBA Height
kinda on the topic, but off the nba...
I have a client I work with that has met numerous times with Arnold Swartzenegger (too lazy to check if that's the right spelling) and he told me the guy is like 5'8, 5'9. He said he wears platform shoes that give him like 3 inches so he is closer to 6 ft. My client is about 6'0 but says he looks over the top. He finds it hilarious since Arnold is portrayed as a much larger person on tv/movies. Interesting topic, but i've always heard the nba gives their players like an extra 2 to 3 inches so people are under them impression they are watching giants or something. Now, I have seen Yao and Mutumbo in person and they are legit monsters but you are skeptical about a lot of other guys....but, whatever

You know it's funny you mention Arnold because I know someone who said the same thing. I just don't see it though I'm 5'8" and I picture Arnold way taller. Stallone is only 5'9"-5'10" too.

At about 1min Charles Barkley says he is 6'4 3/4.
Quite impressive for a power forward averaging 11 rebounds.

Barkley is one of the most unique players of all time. Rodman was also actually 6'6" and averaged over 18 rpg one year.

Re: Real NBA Height
And enough with the posting pictures of NBA players standing next to or near another player to compare heights. In many of those pictures one player is slumped down, bent a bit, etc or the players are at angles that create an illusion.
Owned once.
This method is not reliable, you're using heights without shoes, yet posting pics of players who are wearing sneakers (and dress shoes in some cases). Their heights are not accurate because you're not using their height with shoes, you cannot say it's reliable because shoes present a variable that you are just ignoring. Every last player is going to be slightly taller than the heights you're posting, just looking at the without shoes/shoes heights, there's a difference in even the types of sneakers where some players are gaining an inch and 2 to 3 quarters.
Not all the shoes add the same height, so posting pics of players next to each other isnt really a great way of judging height, unless they're wearing the same exact brand of sneakers.
Owned twice Yet this chump refuses to leave his little fantasy world. As for Barkley, in his book he said he's 6-4 3/4 IN SOCKS. Conservatively give him an inch with shoes and round up as NBA player heights are, and you get 6-6.

Clearly taller than 6-4 Payton

Around the same as 6-7 Miller.

Side by side with Jordan, about the same

Actually looks like he has some on Jordan here.

Same as 6-6 Majerle
I also just love how you can tell us a players height to the 1/4 OF AN INCH from just looking at a damn picture. Hilariously pathetic.

Hell that is hard even when you stand near someone.

Iverson is 5'11.25". Oden also measured 6'11 1/2" in a private workout.

Greg Oden was measured at 6'11 in the 2007 NBA Pre Draft Measurement.
Allen Iverson was measured at 5'10 ( with out shoes) and 5'11 1/4 in his sneakers. If Stephon Marbury is 6'0 1/4 which means that he is 6'1 1/2 in his socks and shoes. So the 2 inch height advantage between the players are correct base on the pictures.

I read Iverson was 5'11.25" without shoes, 6'0.5" with shoes, 167 pounds and had a 6'3.25" wingspan in 1996.

He was 6'9" right before the 1998 draft(he eventually went to college instead) but grew to 6'10" by the time of 1999 draft.

Re: Real NBA Height
WTF is up with the pic of TP, GP, JKidd, and Starbust?
It was taken before Parker was anybody... so whose idea was it to gather those four random players? Besides position, I don't see the connection.
