Question So where do the Lakers go from here?

They're not a bad team (thanks mainly to LeChemistry, LeMotivator, LeAccountable) they're just losing to the best team. And that's understandable.

But the thing is these players arent gonna get any better at this point in their careers, while other teams in the West are gonna improve. Thunder will be even stronger next year. Denver still has a long window. Some other teams will probably improve.

It's not an indictment of where the Lakers are now it's just that their arrow has no upward trajectory. In a different bracket seeding they might have made a WCF again, but next year their ceiling is probably the second round at best no matter the bracket. In two years their ceiling is a play-in bounce.

The point is just that their window is basically closed.

So like... what do they do?

Lebron should probably do a Wizards Mike at this point.

Go to a bad team like Charlotte or Washington and become part owner or plan to become owner, draft Bronny, lose in spectacular fashion, get draft picks etc.

He seems to have limited himself to the Los Angeles area though, which seems a mistake. If Clips blow it up, which they might, he could go to Clips in a Luis Figo move (hope you guys understand). I think that might actually make a lot of sense.

As for Lakers, they should focus on trying to lure Luka out of Mavs, who could be an unrestricted free agent in 2026 if he doesn't sign an extension.

To lure Luka out of Dallas, Lakers should focus on keeping their trio of AD, Rui and Reaves together, maybe even focus on Dinwiddie on a friendly contract.

With AD, Rui and Reaves locked up, you have to juggle the numbers and perhaps Rui will have to go, if his contract demands are too great.

Signing a free agent Luka in 2026 will basically be winning the lottery for Lakers, who can have a dynamic trio for the next 10 years.

Need a new coach and 2 trades.

I would move Reaves and Rui in 2 separate deals. Only AD, LeBron and Vanderbilt should be brought back. Everyone else is expendable. We might be stuck with Vincent for another year, but I would love to package Vincent with either of the two trades to match money.

Reaves/JHS/Cam/frp for Murray would be nice. Then Rui/Vincent/frp for another C or PF who is able to give 12ppg, 6rpg, and defense to complement AD. Vanderbilt is best coming off the bench IMO. I don't expect D'lo to stay because Magic or someone will offer him a better deal than the Lakers.

Murray/???/Bron/???/AD, Vando 6th man is a good core.

I like Reaves but we need a good pointguard who can play even a little defense more.

    Word.

I’m so sick of the legacy media always spouting bullsh!t fantasies to cater to the NY & LA fanbases, regardless of whether there is any shred of merit to what they’re trying to push.

It’s a sick science, nothing to do with truth or accuracy, or the game itself. It’s a cold, dishonest numbers game, devoid of all that makes the competitive meritocracy of sports, much greater and more honest than other forms of entertainment.

They need to trade LeBron to the Denver Nuggets for Michael Peter Juniors. Nuggets are up 3-0 in the first rounds.

Agreed, this is the best way to secure their future by securing multiple lottery picks.

Relegation or disbandment, preferably. Burn the jerseys in the rafters and remove any account of them from the history books.

Nuggets would not make that trade.
