Figures a Nazi like you would prefer the VW over the Tesla. Also it's base price is $5 more than the Tesla M3 almost 40k, not 30k. And the Tesla Model 3 gets 350 miles on the base. The VW only gets 270.

The biggest advantages are it's bigger, quieter, and you get free charging for 3 years.

    The disadvantages are pretty significant.

    Less range
    Much slower charging
Only access to 2/3 of the charging stations of Tesla
    No self driving capability
    Much more unreliable
Dealer service for VW EVs has been horrible
    Less sporty and quick
    No frunk
    Worse software and controls
Upgrades and options are very expensive

Think about it. Euro cars are cool, look nice and are sporty but even after decades of trying to get it right, they are still plagued with electrical bugs. Electrical problems and euro cars go hand in hand. I'd have to get my head examined to trust a Euro manufacturer to build a reliable EV.

Hydrogen-powered is the way to go for automobiles in the future, not EVs.

Not anytime soon. Maybe not ever. EVs are actually cheaper to build than combustible engines. Hydrogen cars are pretty expensive to make. Also a lot more expensive to run than combustible or EV. Take up a shit ton of space and are underpowered. Even Toyota admits after nearly a decade of trying it's hydrogen vehicles are a failure. EVs don't have to worry about losing ground to hydrogen any time soon. Hydrogen cars are just better for the environment.

If you say so. It may not look feasible rn but the best advantage of it is that one day, it will be able to use water as its main source of energy which seem indefinite compared to oil and electricity. Besides, producing LI batteries is said to be taxing to the environment even more than emissions from ICE vehicles. And they only usually last around 10 years or so until the batteries need to be replaced, which could be costly more or less. The instant power is much appreciated tho but atm, not every nation is filled with charging stations. That's why some makers can't help but point out that hybrid cars are still the most ideal choice today due to their flexibility.

True but we don't know where solar and battery tech will be in the future either. And lithium can be recycled. The nail in the coffin for EVs is if the world doesn't have enough, or enough access rather, to lithium. That's if it's still depending on it. In 10 years lithium could be the leaded gas version of EVs though They are already working on alternatives to lithium.

For the near future hydrogen cars are not going to be the answer for the masses that's for sure. Only a dummy wouldn't buy an EV today because they think hydrogen cars are going to make them obsolete.

If they are working on an alternate source for the batteries aside from lithium, then that would be good. However, since they are heavily pushing for it, they should also establish more charging infrastructures around the world. Not just focus solely on making EVs alone. If they can upgrade or replace every existing gas station in the country, then that is a very good sign. But they have to do it soon. In china, EVs are growing there rapidly. ICE vehicles there might become extinct within the next 10 years. However, you still can't say that for the rest of the world. Especially those that belong in the developing regions who may have a hard time transitioning from the traditional engines.

Yeah I'm not touching a VW even if it was 20K, specially when it is electronically driven.

I'm waiting for Toyota's solid state battery in a SUV platform before making the jump. My area just isn't the greatest for EVs, particularly because my wife and my commutes involve potential flood zones.
