Smits if I knew I could play him big minutes and he would stay healthy. But since I don’t, I would take Rudy. And of course, both were more suited to the time they played. You don’t want Rik Switching guards and you don’t want Rudy guarding most of those physical bigs who Rik gave a hard time. As usual, I will say, there is no more reason to assume players are playing these comparisons today than any other time. Just as straight up players, I would take Smits. He was out there playing Ewing to a stand still. But the difference isn’t enough to offset that he would only play 25 minutes.

Rik Smits was coordinated but slow depite having quick moves in the post and he didnt have the stamina to play big minutes but I would still take him with the old rules.
