All of a sudden lots of injuries...
Seems that no load management and higher intensity games especially post ASB are taking lots of guys down..
Joel Embiid
Donovan Mitchell
Devin Booker
Jalen Brunson
Scottie Barnes
Russell Westbrook
Except Embiid all the others in the past couple of days.
And this really hurts the teams in question. Apart from the Clippers, all the other teams got way weaker.

I doubt load management would have prevented Barnes and Westbrook from breaking their hands.
Let's not forget the All-Star break wasn't long ago.

They just came back from almost a week of rest with the all-star break.
So cumulative fatigue and/cumulative wear&tear would mostly be ruled out for injuries immediately post all star break.
The type of injury causation you’re alluding to, would be for players who hadn’t had more than one day off in months, and had many back to backs recently.

I don't think players of the past would sit out with hand injuries. That's a boo boo only today's guys sit out with. Even ankle or knee stuff. Guys would play through. It's insane how many guys played 82 for as long as they did and always kept going no matter what.

Players now need an excuse to rest so any chance they get, especially this late

Teams themselves force the players to sit. Imagine working at a job where your boss is a hypochondriac who puts you on mandatory paid leave every time you cough.

The games are more high speed and intense than ever.
There needs to be less games. Less games means more rest between games. That means higher quality games and less injuries.

For sure. Kobe broke his index finger on the shooting hand in the middle of the 2010 season in December and didn't miss a single game because of it, he adapted and changed his shooting form on the fly.
To be fair to Russ tho, he's had a ****ton of hand injuries and he can afford to miss games since he plays limited minutes off the bench for that team. He played through a lot of injuries in the past.

Please clap.

People really don't understand how a broken hand could be a problem for a point guard?

Also, it would further skew stats between eras.

Whatever happened to evolving to bigger, stronger, faster? Why can't they stay on the court?

Yup.
Kobe averaged 30/6/5 to lead a championship team with broken fingers and a crippled knee. Most guys would sit out with only 1 of those ailments and he played through them all at the same time.
