    Exclamation Best in the West

The reason why the Suns, Clippers, GSW, or Lakers have no shot:

The Nuggets have a bunch of players in their prime under 30, & their stars are paid less due to a result of how the cap works. Making their supporting cast better.
Nuggets drafted main players, allowing them to use picks to acquire supplemental guys like Gordon, instead of blowing their picks to get their main guys. Hence, making their supporting cast better again.

Michael Porter Jr fell in his draft due to his back, & he's overpaid, but somehow the Nuggets kept him healthy & upright, & in the league after multiple back surgeries.

On top of that, they have the best player in the world in the Joker. By a good margin. Just look at this s#!t:

And Felix Murray is a very solid second option who steps it up in the clutch. Their remaining players are perfectly complementary - Gordon, Porter Jr, KCP are all excellent.

However, they do have weakness - depth. The Lakers weren't able to exploit KCP's absence last night, just because Holiday had a great game, and lost for the 7th time in a row.
Lakers are a very solid 2nd rung team, with guys like Rui & Reaves stepping up, plus D'Lo playing better than ever recently. Lakers can play almost anyone in the west like last year, but if they have to face the Nuggets, they have to be perfect and get some luck on their side.

The Timberwolves may have a better shot, but the Nuggets will be the favorites. Barring injuries, they're the best in the Western conference.

Denver was unbelievably lucky to get the best player of his generation in the second round. They will likely have a bit more luck when it comes to Murray's contract because his bad luck with injuries in the past and lack of reputation continue to keep him from supermax eligibility.

I would disagree with the idea that the supporting cast is great overall, other than Murray and Gordon who would be a starter on most good teams and who would envy their bench scoring?

But overall they're a good bet to take the West. I had thought Phoenix would be a major challenge but they cant stay healthy. The Clippers will be a challenge if they continue to have good health but I still wouldn't count on them.
