Default Mount rushmore for shooting and point-guard

Was watching Indiana glory before all-star Saturday tipoff. Reggie Miller was interviewing Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas. He asked them for their mount rushmores for shooting (larry) and point-guard (isiah).

Who are yours for shooting and point-guard?

    For me, shooting:
    Steph Curry
    Ray Allen
    Larry Bird
    Durant

    (no Klay or reggie)

    For point-guard:
    Magic
    oscar robertson
    Curry
    Isiah

(no stockton or cp3 or westbrick)

I don't think Bird ever played guard.

Was wondering why Durant was there and no mention of Jordan or Kobe.

Pretty sure he wasn't saying shooting GUARD. Just best shooters and point guards.

Bird isn’t even close to one of the best 4 shooters anymore. The game has developed so much. You don’t give him a boost for what he might have done in a different era either. Career 32% from 3 in the playoffs on low volume is not cutting it when you’re comparing him to guys like Klay Thompson.

Ya, Larry is usually considered a legendary shooter so Reggie asked him for mt rushmore of shooters.

Isiah is usually considered a legendary point-guard so Reggie asked him for mt rushmore of pgs.

You might be correct there. Larry was 37% on low volume. Klay 41% on very high volume.

But keep in mind Klay doesn't do anything else on offense. He is pure catch-and-shoot, while Larry could do everything, and he had a better midrange game + great shooting in the paint + better freethrow shooter (all 3 things in muuuch higher volume).

Shooting includes much more than only 3s. Klay is 45% overall (86% ft%) while Larry is 50% overall (89% ft%). Larry on higher volume overall with no great shooters around him like Curry to take pressure off him. Larry used to battle double and triple teams every night.

Cant boost Bird but you cant assume Klay would be able to do his %'s if he had only a third of his attempts either.

My argument for Bird would be he was the Curry of his day. He lapped the field in shooting. Instead of looking at his career pct. Look at the data from the time Mchale moved into the starting lineup forward.

You can leave him off whatever list you want to make, but saying Bird isn't even close is plain wrong.

Mount Rushmore is some American propaganda stupidity bs. Like how are you supposed to judge everyone and make a fake four? Lol.

No surprise fake ass RRR3 would comment with an opinion on something so fake and stupid.
