Why are the Heat struggling this season?
SI.com: "The Heat entered Wednesday with a minus-1.2 net rating, a worse mark than the 19–27 Brooklyn Nets. Miami doesn’t do anything particularly well at the moment. Its plodding offense is 22nd in the league. And even Erik Spoelstra’s hallmark defense is only 13th, a disappointment relevant to this franchise’s standards. A Jan. 23 trade for Terry Rozier was supposed to provide a spark for the Heat, but they haven’t won a game with him. To make matters worse, the new starting lineup of Rozier, Tyler Herro, Butler, Haywood Highsmith and Bam Adebayo has a minus-10.3 net rating in 38 minutes together and is getting absolutely torched defensively."

Probably a hidden blessing for them Herro went out at the start of the playoffs last year, his impact just doesnt justify the touches he gets when he’s in the lineup. Theyre also probably coasting a bit and counting on winning postseason games with an extra gear of grit. Not sure it’ll work this year but they have been to two of the last four finals, I guess they can get some benefit of the doubt.

Most of their 3pt shooters left. They only kept the two that aren’t great on D

Re: Why are the Heat struggling this season?
Their 3 best players all played below their average during the 7-game losing streak before the SAC game. They also **** around too much and give these bench guys minutes without Jimmy shooting the ball enough and they usually stick around long enough in the game where they're able to win it in crunch time (same as last year), but it's going to hurt them seeding-wise in the POs yet again where they have go through all the best teams from round 1 to the Finals (with Jimmy having to put up 40-point games to keep them in it) and they'll run out of gas again if they do make it far like last year.
There's no way Jimmy should be 3rd in usage rate on the team, but I guess he's not durable enough to carry that load in the RS so they let him coast through it.
I do like their rookie Jaime Jaquez. He missed 5 of the 7 games that they lost in a row.

Butler (playoff Butler only plays 12 games a year , rest of the time he coasts on rep's
I have stated time and time again he is worthless , and that is why he has been on so many teams.
Bam is their cornerstone , they need to build around(.)

Re: Why are the Heat struggling this season?
Herro is a below league average scorer (55 vs 58 TS%) with the highest usage on the team. They run a slow paced offense and have no size to get extra free possession from offensive boards (bottom 4).
Herro, Robinson and Love are especially poor defenders and play large portions of the available minutes together. The team has two good defenders when fully healthy and locked in (Jimmy & Bam), but no "great" individual defenders.
The entire team has been laden with injuries and has no cohesiveness. I'm pretty sure they've used the most or at worst 2nd highest starting lineups in the league this year.
