what should wembitch and donbitch do if texas decides to start a civil war?
what should these 2 divas do? in case you haven't heard, texas is disobeying federal law at the moment and biden is within his rights to "get them in line" if he feels so compelled. probably won't, but he legally can call all federal authorities including soldiers to ragdoll the texas national guard.

curious to know your pov as a law enforcement officer? if the president of germany made it a federal mandate that federal authorities, as states in the constitution are to tend to border activities, and you, as a police officer came upon a situation where state authorities were blocking federal forces from doing their job, would you intervene, and if so, how?

Tricky thing legally is that Texas doesn’t have a border. America has a border. If Trump wins in 2024 and Gavin Newsome decides out of spite to open the border and flood the country Trump shouldn’t be expected to bow to Californias right to decide the means people can migrate into America. The governor of Michigan can’t just decide people can float over from Canada which is right there because it’s Michigan’s border. It isn’t. States really can’t be left to decide those things. Some specific laws have to be set down but it would probably require an amendment to set in stone and you won’t get 66% of Congress to agree that cancer is bad at this point.
And without that we are stuck arguing about interpretations both sides will say are clear while ignoring that if they were there wouldn’t be an argument to begin with.
That said I wonder what kinda out players could manage when they have a contract with a team based in a state that decides to secede(not that it’s a legit option).
Do you have to honor a contract in what becomes a war zone?
There were lots of those issues with the real civil war. What could be enforced across boundaries only one side acknowledged existed.

i wouldn't even argue tthat letting illegal immigrants enter at will is ok. it's absolutely not, will never be. go through the land entry border and have them vet you properly. but this bs about the state rebelling against the feds? hell nah, can't let that sh1t fly even for a second.

You just contradicted yourself in the same post.
"Letting in illegals is never okay and never will be..."
"Letting in illegals is okay if the federal government decrees it..."
You can only pick one.

They won't have the balls to go that far. The red states' economy relies too heavily on the blue states to even consider it.
All the feds need to do is pull federal support including programs like Medicare/obamacare/ss and Texas falls in line within weeks. No need to deploy a single soldier. Hell, the feds could pull back the troops from the border between Texas/Mexico and Texas becomes forced to lay down once the migrants start pushing into Texas en masse.

Um, they would leave, along with all of the other skilled labor that resides in Texas. Considering Texas doesn't get invaded by the US or Mexico and outright taken over first, their govt will legislate so much deregulation it'll become a sweatshop nation so at least our Nikes will be cheaper to import. The only natural resource texas really has is oil which is all owned by American corporations, who will run their rigs double and tripletime due to the aformentioned deregulation. I mean, this is a state that can't even maintain a stable powergrid, and would have been down for weeks if not for workers flying in from around the country to help them get it back up. The unskilled texan laborforce left there will ironically become the new borderhoppers trying to get into America lol.
Don't get me wrong there will be downsides for America, too, but if Texas takes the bible belt with it it'll be more than worth it.

They would not last very long on their own. Give them a few weeks and their citizens would complain about no Medicare/ss/Obamacare (gives extra funding for state Medicaid), lack of military/homeland security on Texas/Mexico border. Give it a few months and they are begging to return to the US

All the US has to do is put troops along the OK/LOU/New Mex borders, and blockade the coast.
