Just a question, which of these guys do you think was better at their peak?

I can't see the 2nd clip as it is not shown on YT outside the US. Watched the first one. Nice midrange game but I somehow found it boring.

While I think I’ve heard good things about Dr. J’s defense I don’t think he was ever considered legendary on that end so I’d imagine Kawhi had more overall impact. Peak Kawhi was as good as pretty much anyone he just didn’t exist for long.

You could argue Kawhi's peak at the SF spot trails only Bron and Bird ( KD is obviously in that mix as well, but for me Kawhi's defense edges him). Main thing against him is his peak was cut short by injuries and his numbers don't stack up, so he's a bit harder to rank. I feel like he should be in the top 25 just in terms of peak impact but it was just too short.

Just from watching a bunch of film since we don't have any kind of granular data for Dr J... He seems like a superior finisher in the paint compared to Kawhi and a better passer as well. Kawhi is flat out a better shooter from all ranges. In terms of defense, young Kawhi is superior but prime high scoring load Kawhi vs. Erving is actually kind of a wash defensively IMO. I'd prefer Kawhi man to man and prefer the Doctor in terms of help defense and shot blocking. All in all, they have very similar peaks to me.
