it diminished his career perception-wise because most people don't remember how good he was considered before the injury in February of 2002 - the Wizards had the 4 seed and Jordan was considered a top 5-15 player depending on who you asked at the time

but the injury and subsequent drop-off makes people remember an old, worn Jordan instead of the Jordan that was hitting game-winners over Shawn Marion and dropping 96 points in 2 days, or locking down Vince Carter

Facts. Plus it was also what went down with Abe Pollin.

He came back and kind of sucked. Its never a good look when you were only gone 3 years.

Didnt have any special moments either.

Kobe sucked his last 2 years and had a lot of special moments tbh.

It was about how he handled his teammates and he was admittedly too harsh on them

    Only 3 years?

That's a long time to be out of it in your 30s.

Not just 30s, mid to late 30s. Idiots claim basketball mileage, not playing and getting out of shape and then trying to work your way back is significantly harder and worse on the body. Then staying in shape. That keeps the body ready for that type of rigorous activity. Whenever somebody claims something dumb like that you can tell they’ve never played sports at a high-level. And before his knee injury in 2002, he was playing very very well. And even as a hobble decrepit, 40-year-old initially coming off the bench the next season, when he played all 82 games, he was good for a guy that age.
