Kind of the same way as Oscar. So many players look up to him and his peak numbers are insanely impressive on paper and he has some amazing highlights, but not much Playoff success in comparison to other ATGs. At least Oscar got a ring playing with Kareem. I think Russ has a chance to win one so maybe he'll be remembered way differently 5-10 years from now if he does end up getting one before the end of his career.

Explosive athleticism, triple doubles, weird clothes and not a winning player. His MVP season feels like a distant memory now.

One of the five worst MVP's in the history of the game. If we get to the top 100 players of all-time I think he's in danger of being cut.

Oscar was still starting. Only Westbrook gets a championship is off someone's bench

One of the most athletic players ever, an obvious hall of famer, but very reckless who's play style isn't the best for team success (unless he's on a team by himself). Some fans will look at him in the way they see Iverson, but Iverson was more iconic and more loved by fellow players & fans.

A warrior like Iverson. Both low IQ

Dude just stop posting, Oscar is on the Mt. Rushmore in terms of 60's players, still ranked top 15 ever by many people, Westbrook isn't on that level.

As a matter of fact, after his 14-year career, he's still ringless atm. Not sure why he doesn't realize this.

Fun fact, Oscar missed the playoffs in four of the 10 seasons in the 60s decade. His rookie season and his final three in Cincinnati. Five of those seasons he was below .500.

One of the best point guard athletes ever, built like superman... but unfortunately also one of the dumbest and feminine ever. His mind doesn't match his body.

I said "kind of" because of the triple-doubles and that MVP season. Most people know Oscar for the same reason. Russ is on pace to pass Oscar in assists next season and will end up top 5 all-time in that category.

Exactly. I'm sure people cared about that when discussing Big O in the past but that's not what he's remembered for. Last 2 years were rough on Russ but that's not what people are going to remember 10+ years from now.

Law Murray: Tyronn Lue said today that when Westbrook and Harden are on floor together, Westbrook will be point guard and ball handler in order to keep Westbrook’s defender engaged. Harden will start out off ball in that set up

    Thats retarded.

The evolution of stats is going to more advanced ones, triple doubles have nothing to do with that.

The more stat nerds there will be, the less favorable Westbrook will be viewed.

The basic stats are never going away, homie. The main things that matter, other than winning of course, are points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals. Players will always be defined by those kinds of stats. Not by ORTG or PER or any new advanced stat someone comes up with.

wow this thread really makes me question the level of expertise on this forum.

westbrook will barely be remembered at all. he'll be alex english, where if you were around you remember him well but ultimately will be forgotten in time.

20-25 years from now people will look back on past MVP winners and be like who the fukk was russell westbrook. and at best you may get answers like "he went to the finals with KD one time..."

guy is one of the most overrated players in history.
