How will Russell Westbrook be remembered as an NBA player?
When Russell Westbrook eventually retires, and let's say he doesn't win any championships between now and the time he eventually retires, how shouldn't be a career be summarized?
This might be a weird time to ask this because he's on a clippers team packed with stars that probably have their eye on a championship.
But if nothing special happens for the rest of his career, how would you summarize it?

Allen Iverson but better.
Cultural icon and entertainer.
The kind of player that once made the NBA the most entertaining in the world (it's probably not top 5 now).

winning a ring as a role player wouldn't change anything as far as I'm concerned.

Re: How will Russell Westbrook be remembered as an NBA player?
We've never seen a point guard so aggressive in attacking the rim.
He's 6 foot 3, charging into the paint like a bull, going up against 7 foot defenders and dunking on them.
He'll be remembered for his fearlessness & his intensity.
He's not in the top 10 PG to have played. His MVP was a fluke; a result of being on a bad team being the only real scorer. His triple doubles come from stat padding- particularly ball dominance and grabbing defensive rebounds- which he shouldn't be doing (as a PG he needs to be running up the court to lead the fast break).
He never developed the ability to truly lead a team's offense. His primary way of scoring is actually quite similar to Harden and Durant. Drive to the hoop and score; if you can't, ditch it. That's not winning basketball.
That's the good and the bad.

He'll be remembered as a handsome man.
He'll also be remembered as a superstar who got dragged to the lottery by LeShrivel.

No, on all counts. Dumb post.
a) not a better player than Allen Iverson
b) definitely not a cultural icon and def not on AI’s level
c) he wasn’t that level of box office
Watching Russell Westbrook was like watching a car wreck or an explosion go off in an action movie. He’s a mess of a player.
In reality, he should be remembered as a raw stat padding, extremely poor shooting, even worse decision-making shooting guard masquerading as a point guard.
And he failed to deliver championships playing with the most asinine amount of talent throughout his career where he’s been traded away from team to team becoming the cancer, he always was but more pronounced with his regressed athleticism in the back half of his career
Also an over emotional, possibly on the DL, gay dressing selfish weirdo. Thats Russell Westbrick.

Well, if someone is a braindead dumbass with two dead brain cells, they can always think that he's an all-star during the time he played for the lakers even when it's apparent that he isn't.

He’ll be remembered as a Hall of Famer, he’s not going to be remembered for what he did past his prime. What player is?

You remember a player at their best.
Who talks about Iverson in Memphis or Patrick Ewing in Seattle.

20 years from now, there will be stat nerds who try to put him in the GOAT conversation because of his triple doubles.

He definitely had superman physical genetics. Light skinned pint sized version of Dwight Howard.
