I saw why they want to change Sensabaugh's physique. He didn't look fat exactly just not toned. Definitely has some talent

With the Jazz’s multitude of offensive-oriented guards, Dunn’s defense stands out. It’s that skill that, Hardy says, may even turn him into a starter during the 2023-24 season — as soon as opening day. “I think there are opportunities for us to change the (starting) lineup at certain times, depending on who we’re playing, Hardy said. “We’re always looking at it like we’re trying to maximize 48 minutes, but yes, Kris is somebody who could be in that slot. He could potentially be there the opening night of the season, he could not.”

If you're really all about putting the best players out there it should be Dunn and Agbaji no question but obviously the fact that The Bum started last year none of that is really true. It's a shame because there's a lot to like about you as a coach otherwise

    Alex Caruso
    would love him!

    Tyus Jones
probably smaller than you'd like. Rather have Sexton I think

KSL names Rudy Gobert No. 6 Utah Jazz player ever but is he?
he's 3. It's not even close. No one had close to the impact outside the statues

Well, let’s look at some key categories. Firstly, defense. Yeah, save for Kirilenko, and Mark Eaton, there isn’t a Jazz defender who matches Gorbert’s talent on the defensive end of the floor. And while we’re all on board with Eaton being seen as the better defender, it’s by relative hairs that he is.
Eaton sucked. He wasn't close to the defender Gobert was. Kirilenko might have been his all star year?

Lastly, offense and this is where Gobert flops. He was a fine rim-runner, but he wasn’t really capable of creating his own offense. He could catch lobs and was decent enough to hit his put-backs, but he wasn’t going to bring anyone out of the paint and he certainly wasn’t a threat from three-point.
you need to find something else to do with your time. His impact on offense was huge. He did all the little things so others could score.

He has the accolades, he has the success, the problem is that his contract and behavior as of late have soured the image of Gobert. Something we were a bit guilty of. The modern narrative is that he’s overrated and isn’t very good, but he was actually the best defensive player for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, and the team’s defense faltered with him off the court.
the non max contract that he earned by being an all NBA/DPOTY? How many Jazz players have more all NBA selections? Pretty sure just two

That’s absurd, as this team was nearly in the playoffs last season with a less impressive roster. Sure, not having Conley hurts, but the team isn’t somehow worse today than it was at the end of the prior season.
they weren't good at the end of the year though and now The Bum is back so yes they actually might be worse especially if Dunn isn't playing. If he and Agbaji start and The Bum's minutes are limited they could surprise again

Who cares? One of the most overrated feats in basketball. Haven't been a fan since the days of Kidd going 4-17 from the field and getting one

I’m starting to worry that maybe Luka Samanic hasn’t done enough during the preseason to warrant the Jazz using the final roster spot on him. He has staggered guarantee dates in his contract (one before the start of the regular season and another in January) so the Jazz could give him a few more months, but I don’t know that it’s going to happen. He’s had a rough preseason.
he hasn't looked as good as last year but he's better than Simone

Perhaps the biggest topic du jour in Jazzland is the guard rotation. The six strongest candidates for minutes are Jordan Clarkson, Collin Sexton, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kris Dunn, Keyonte George, and Ochai Agbaji. Thus far, coach Will Hardy has solved this squeeze by playing some guards out of position. For example, Agbaji has primarily played as a forward, even though he’s ideally a shooting guard if the Jazz want to play with positional size. We’ve even seen lineups with center Walker Kessler and four guards.
I wouldn't necessarily say Agbaji is ideally a guard in today's game especially with how big the Jazz are playing though I think he should be starting at the 2 next to Dunn

The other issue facing the Jazz roster is a deficiency in passing and strong overlap in other guard skills. Sexton, THT, and Dunn prefer to score their points on drives. While THT and Dunn have had hot scoring streaks, they don’t generate gravity on the perimeter, making them shaky fits in Kessler lineups. And while Clarkson has evolved his passing game admirably, making him the primary distributor may be asking too much.
Dunn has hit open shots and Sexton can hit from anywhere. The Bum sucks. Dunn is the best fit regardless. Probably best defender on the team and one of the best in the whole league and runs the team the best. He should start no question

That said, starting the rookie to start the season isn’t a clear cut answer. Hardy has shown that playing time must be earned. Players don’t need to start to develop, and Key has already earned significant minutes as a backup in preseason play. Point guard is a notoriously hard position for rookies to play, and throwing a nineteen-year-old right into the furnace could prove unwise. Ideally George can take more and more responsibility as he becomes ready for it, rather than being the only option.
should start with the Stars clearly

Even during last year’s rebuild, the Jazz brought in veterans like Kelly Olynyk and Mike Conley to create a functional offense. Rewards were reaped, as players like Kessler and Lauri Markkanen blossomed in a stable environment. The same argument can be made for bringing in a table setter to ease George’s development as he grows into his role.
    Dunn is already that guy

still only 23. Ainge certainly sees something in him. Looked like they might want him playing the 1 with the Stars?

When the Bum was off the floor last year it was as likable of a team as the Jazz have ever had. Unselfish and they played hard
