i’ve been burned too many times in the super team era to even try to guess how this fits together. If they won 68 games and the championship, I would be no more surprised than if they win 51 games and get knocked out in the first round.

So who is actually starting at the point and being in the 1 spot for sets for the suns on day one?

Is it Beal? Booker? You’re just giving the ball to someone who can dribble it?

Isn’t Vogel a coach like Thibs who doesn’t even bother much with offense? Is the plan to make them a great defensive team and let the sheer talent of the offence figure that side out? I barely mentioned the suns this off-season, because I just don’t know what to make of them. They’re like the ultimate version of the modern strategy of just stacking people with name recognition on one team and hoping it works out quickly before they get too expensive.

Didnt work for the Nets but maybe it would have if they were healthy.

I don’t even know how to form an opinion till I see them put it together on the floor. It’s almost like when the Mavs had Dirk, Nash, Jamison, Walker, and Josh Howard. Feeeeeels like it should be good but has so much train wreck potential because you don’t know how the puzzle fits together.

did you watch any of their games last season? booker can bring it up. coach already said it would be a committee type deal where beal and book take turns. its insignificant. this isn't the early 2000s

they literally have the highest paid assistant coach in the league, and that's by design. he was interviewed for the head coach vacancy but settled on taking a ridiculous salary to stay with the team. CP3 said he's an offensive guru.

whats to figure out on offense? any one of the 3 drives, passes to open man after the defense collapses rinse and repeat.

I was actually about to check to see who their assistants were. Figured it might be a situation like Rivers or Byron Scott would build, where he’s technically the coach but someone else runs the offense or defense. Thibs and Eddie Jordan made their names that way.

and yes, I’ve seen all the relevant players play over the years and recently, and don’t question anybody’s ability to bring the ball up but that isn’t always enough. It just depends on the offense. There are teams that don’t need a point guard in the traditional sense and teams that need that coach extension on the floor.

Someone might be taken out of their comfort zone. Or maybe they score 126 a game.

I don’t believe anything strongly enough to even make a prediction. I just know I take two games off the total for Ayton flat ironing a porn stars hair on Instagram.

Does it make any difference? Beal is not making any passes that Book is not capable of and the reverse is true. The shump video you posted was a cool story but that's what makes Lebron so damn special... he unlocks more options in an offensive set than anyone else. And that really showed up in the WCF last year... Malone was scheming that same thing Shump talks about the very beginning of that video cheating off the weak side. As good of a series as Book had he struggled with that pass.

Between the two of them I’m not sure it does matter, but ideally, I’m not sure it would be either one. Steph Curry is one of the five or six best ball handlers of all time, but that doesn’t mean he needs to have the ball. Like I’ve been saying, it just depends on how you want to play. it looks like they won’t have much choice but to be a bit of a your turn….now my turn…now his turn offense where everyone is also looking out the side of the eye for Ayton to come open around the basket.

that kind of thing doesn’t always work immediately. LeBron, wade and Bosh all know the game and it still didn’t work immediately. What’s the timeline before this team cost 500 million total with the tax?

if they don’t win this year, do they blow it up if it’s not looking great next deadline?

kd and book worked great for the short run they had...they were lacking personnel. this team is just an extension of that core with better depth and a coach that doesn't hate ayton.
