Because he was sorrounded by Khalid El-Amin, Marcus Fizer, Jamal Crawford (all of them rookies), etc. He didn't get significantly better in his first year in the Clippers, he just got better teammates. In other words, trading him was a bad move because he had shown franchies-player potential already.

I liked Brand's game but he was just not as good as his numbers suggest probably because he was undersized or some other things.

    Bulls management was always dumb.

They fluked out into the mother of all jackpots by getting Jordan no.3 and they dumb enough to be somewhat disappointed at the draft because they wanted to trade the pick for Jack Sikma (lol). They made other dumb moves like trading Oakley entering his prime for a washed up Bill Cartwright.

Outside of doing (finally) some work at the 1987 draft and getting taking a flyer on a free Rodman because San Antonio was fed up with his attitude, they really didn't do a lot as a management group.

The team's much hyped "post Last Dance rebuild" falling apart was zero surprise.

Overall you can't blame them for wanting two young guys to build around. They were 3 years removed from a title and dynasty and they knew they weren't going to ever be the Lakers and have stars all the time.

The fact that a comment like that can get your panties in a tight wad makes me chuckle.

Bulls management is and generally always has been trash, the results outside of the fluke of getting Jordan speak for themselves, even as a big market franchise that should be attractive to players they haven't done jack shit since 1998.

    That doesn't "accidentally" happen.

Krause was big on trying to break things that were working.
The most accurate thing ever said about him. The way I remember it, they were sure that Curry/Chandler was the future of basketball, and they were going to leave Elton Brand in the dust. Brand meanwhile being a 1st/2nd round exit type of player.

I can't even think of a modern example quite like it. Hinkie trading Michael Carter Williams, not because he sucked but because he was good (right after he won rookie of the year), to try to lose more games and get top-3 picks, is kind of like it. MCW is obviously not a big part of a championship team (Shaun Livingston role at most), and they did get an elite player out of it which the Bulls did not, but the over-ambitious dumping of a player with high character for a crap shoot on pure potential, from which the culture never recovers and they never win anything, is similar.
