Gasol is one of the ATG teammates though. Him and KB became brothers and KB got the most out of him. Phil is also the GOAT at managing the Artest/Rodman types who are bipolar & unpredictable as ****. Kerr is a smart coach but I don't think he could ever manage the egos well enough in that locker room, which is why the Dray & KD situation happened which led to him leaving the team. It's hard to come back from the Poole punch situation as well with it being recorded and leaked to the Internet.

Dude has been a bus rider his entire life.
Agreed; Kerr is not much of a personality and I highly doubt he has any strong influence on the team culture.

But for Kerr, the biggest reason of all was a lack of trust.
"Anytime some trust is lost, then it makes the process much more difficult, and there was some trust lost," Kerr said at his exit interview on Tuesday. "That's as blunt as I can be. We have to get back to what has made us really successful, which is a really trusting environment and a group that relies on one another and makes each other better."
I said something similar a few days ago:

Instead the Warriors did perhaps the worst thing by not punishing Draymond enough because they thought that would teach an arrogant Poole not to taunt his elders; the result was actually destructive to both Draymond's authority as defensive captain, and Poole's mental health; all year long, the team played as adversaries and competitors, not teammates.
The underlying issues that led to the fight were never resolved. They thought they had a clever solution to the fight, but it created turmoil for the season and destroyed team chemistry.
Any focus on the Warriors in a "sum of their parts" manner, analyzing individual players and their contributions, or where each player fell short misunderstands how the Warriors win games. They win on offense as a team- whizzing the ball around, players passing to each other, trusting one another with the ball, sacrificing their performance to get a better shot for a teammate.
They play D as a team. Despite not having players known for defense except for Draymond, they led the league in the past on defense. They also did that as a team, with iq and teamwork.
Kerr is right to zero in on the trust issue. Prefer they realized this at the time and worked on it but at least they realize the problem won't fix itself.

its draymonds lack of accountability too
in the podcast and presser asked on these things, he could have easily said it started with him and his misdemeanor... but no, it was everyone.

Re: Warriors never rebuilt trust after Green-Poole incident, Steve Kerr says
I wouldn't have apologized too Poole, that guy is a douche to the lebronth degree
Him getting 140 million then putting out that performance also shows he's soft
Kerr let's Draymond do what he wants because he fears him also most likely

Gasol wasn’t soft
Odom when his head is straight can fulfill many roles
Draymond went too far this time and it may have caused them a legit opportunity. The way he hit Poole and then embarrassed him in the media afterwards all in the public’s view damaged them greatly. If he did that on the street I can guarantee Poole would have been looking for revenge.
Poole was severely disrespected in front of the world

Re: Warriors never rebuilt trust after Green-Poole incident, Steve Kerr says
Kerr sucks at developing young players. He hardly played Wiseman and so a #2 draft pick was traded away (for GP2 - yet another guard). Didn't Wiseman put up a respectable showing against AD in their first game against LA this season and he would have shored up a position that they are solely lacking in. Moody hardly played all season long in favor of 2 way contracts JMG, Lamb and Jerome. Kuminga played well for the last stretch of regular season but was in the doghouse for the entire playoffs. But Poole (that turnstile on defense) was played and at the end was reluctant to shoot - what good is a shooter who won't shoot - none.
Kerr thinks Klay can guard 1-4. They announce Wiggins rib injury - why? - so that Lakers can target that area? So Klay ends up getting abused by Lebron. Kerr didn't even try Kuminga on LBJ when he is the closest in size and athleticism to Lebron.

Curry underachieved due to being one-dimensional and low IQ.
Curry won against a stacked Celtics roster with all NBA level defenders in every position and a number 1 offense with Andrew Wiggins as his second option arguably the worst second option of all time
