The problem with conspiracy nuts is they cherry-pick. They'll find something in their "favor" (in this case a STAT) and then run away with it. Basic context, though, tells you Golden State committed more fouls than just about anyone...all year. More context would also tell you "driving into the paint" =/= post ups or points scored in said area. For reference, the Lakers are ~top 3 in post ups AND fgm in the playoffs. The Warriors rated 13 in both...out of 16 teams.
Even with all of that in mind, people still want to scream "rigged!"
These are good counterpoints. However, in the playoffs, the Warriors were also ranked 2nd in paint touches while the Lakers were ranked 8th. So now what? And in Paint Touches FGM, Warriors were 4th and Lakers were 7th.

Well, I'd say there's a bigger discrepancy in postups. Field goals made with postups too.
Golden State had .4 more field goals made with paint touches, sure. Not much of a difference there though.
Why we really cant listen to conspiracy nuts, though, is because of the Warriors propensity to hack. We simply can't ignore they ranked 3rd in fouls, and were tops in the playoffs. There's also their three-point chucking. You take all of that into consideration and its just hard to claim the league rigged it.
The Warriors were undisciplined and only have themselves to blame

Yup.
I saw a stat Warriors were actually attacking the paint as much as any playoff team. That's their game. They're not a midrange team. Paint and 3s.
We can understand a slight differential one way or another, but when a team is getting double or triple the amount of FTAs it's obvious what's going on.

Please clap.

Rather than point at numbers which are normally the product of how individual players play any accusation of fixing by referees should be pointing out bad calls, no?
